While our long-term dream is to do treks like the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcta.org\/\">Pacific Crest Scenic Trail<\/a> or the ever-so-famous <a href=\"http:\/\/www.incatrailperu.com\/\">Inca Trail<\/a>, we are probably going to start by taking baby steps (pardon the pun). Once we see that we are capable of living with only a limited number of underwear (i.e. I have to stop changing undies 3 times a day), once we have hardened our feet with hours of walking, once we have learnt to endure cold weather with minimal whining, and once we are beginning to feel a little more nomadic, then we will venture off into the wild.<br \/>\nAs for now, we will simply step out into our own backyard\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6Quebec. So beginning this Thursday, October 9, we will be taking a two-hour drive and head towards the beautiful <a href=\"http:\/\/www.parcsutton.com\/\">Parc Sutton<\/a>. This hike is a 77km network of trails, including cliffs, lakes and greenery! This is a good beginner\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s trail and we are looking forward to the refreshing mid-week break!<br \/>\nOnce we become a little more advanced, we will look into some other wonderful trails in Quebec, including the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.capcan.ca\/bins\/ncc_web_content_page.asp?cid=16297-16299-10170&#038;lang=1&#038;bhcp=1\">Gatineau Park<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sepaq.com\/pq\/gas\/en\/\">Parc de la Gaspesie<\/a>. Both seem like spectacular scenic trails, and so close to home! Finally, we will fulfill one of our dreams, a one-week trip to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sepaq.com\/sa\/en\/\">Anticosti<\/a>, a beautiful 8,000 square foot island (bigger than PEI) situated in the mouth of the St-Lawrence river with only 260-some inhabitants!!<\/p>\n<p>So away we go!
