George, Dimitri and I ran our first race together on June 19, 2011. The Alexandria run, which was organized by our wonderful friend and fellow soulmate, Argi, was to help support the Hellenic Community. Seeing as how we would like the Hellenic Community to stick around just a little longer and ensure that we maintain our Greek heritage, we were glad to take part in any small way we could.
Just shy of 8 months old, Dimitri was a star (and the youngest runner there)! He couldn’t complain really, seeing as how he was being pushed around in a luxurious chariot, check it out:
The race was definitely fun. We completed it in fairly good time (and spirits), and I even managed to score a bronze medal in my category!รย Here are the results of the 5KM race. It felt great getting some fresh air, doing something as a family and introducing our son to fitness from this very young age. We really want to set a good example for our kiddies and show them how simple and rewarding it is to eat well and exercise. Dimitri has already been having fun watching me cook stir fries and pretend that he’s stirring the food as well.
Let this be the beginning of an exciting adventure in family fun. I love my two men so much and couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday morning!
